Arbitrum is a technology suite designed to scale Ethereum. Arbitrum is an Optimistic Rollup scaling solution and Layer 2 ("L2") protocol that allows participants to settle their transactions away from L1, leading to much lower transaction fees. Arbitrum allows developers to create smart contracts by using code to specify the behavior of a virtual machine (VM) that implements the contract’s functionality. Additionally, developers can use Arbitrum for dramatic improvements in scalability and privacy.
Arbitrum was chosen to be our new chain for the following reasons:
Significantly lower gas fees
On Arbitrum, transaction fees and gas are a fraction of the costs on L1. This is illustrated on L2Fees.info which contrasts the costs pertaining to transferring or swapping other tokens.
Wide Adoption
At the time of writing, Arbitrum's TVL was nearly US $2B.
High EVM compatibility
Arbitrum is considered to be one of the most EVM-compatible rollups. It’s compatible with the EVM at the bytecode level, and any language that can compile to EVM works out of the box.
Well-developed Ecosystem
As multiple DeFi moves to Arbitrum, it is critical for ArbiPad to capture this momentum to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
Security
Arbitrum strikes the right balance between speed and security.
